How to invest
There are a number of different ways to invest in the Investment Companies that we manage
Shares in investment trusts are listed on the London Stock Exchange. As with any public quoted company, investment trust shares can be bought and sold on the stock market in a number of different ways
- Via abrdn's online dealing platform
- Via a third party online dealing platform
- Through a stockbroker or independent financial adviser
abrdn offers an online dealing platform, where you can manage your investments in any of the investment trusts managed by abrdn on an execution only basis (ie no financial advice is given). You can manage your holdings in an ISA, an Investment Plan for Children or a Share Plan.
There are a number of other online dealing platforms for private investors that offer share dealing, ISAs and other means to invest in the company on an ‘execution only’ basis. Real-time execution-only stockbroking services allow you to trade online, manage your portfolio and buy UK listed shares. These sites do not give advice. Some comparison websites also look at dealing rates and terms, for example https://www.money.co.uk/share-dealing/execution-only-share-dealing.htm which has a helpful explanation as to how execution only brokers work.
Some of the platforms are listed below.
